At Summer Sessions we aim to create an event that’s truly accessible, equal, diverse and inclusive for all. Summer Sessions has a dedicated Access Team working all year round to constantly improve the experience for access customers. We welcome and encourage feedback from our attendees on our accessible facilities.

Customers can purchase Accessible tickets online through Ticketmaster by selecting a Wheelchair/Ambulant Platform Access ticket. Ticket can be purchased here

  • Change 'Ticket Quantity' to 1 Wheelchair/Ambulant Platform Access ticket (Free Companion ticket must be added at the time of booking)
  • We expect demand to be high and tickets to sell out quickly on-line. Alternatively, customers can purchase accessible tickets and register for a free Personal Assistant ticket first via Ticketmaster on Accessibility line on 0800 988 4440 (or 00 44 161 637 2697 if you're outside the UK)
  • Please do not buy a ticket for your Personal Assistant (PA). One person will be allowed one free Personal Assistant ticket to ensure fairness amongst all accessible customers unless otherwise pre-agreed due to accessibility requirements, please get in touch with the Ticketmaster Access Team if you require more than one PA ticket.
  • By purchasing an accessible ticket, you confirm you or a member of your party require this position. The accessible ticket policy limits one free carer ticket to each accessible ticket purchased. Proof of eligibility/disability must be provided before the event, if you bought tickets online, you will be contacted by Ticketmaster no later than 72 hours after your order. Tickets may be cancelled if misuse is suspected/found.
  • PA/Companion tickets are provided on the expectation that they are willing and able to assist you throughout your visit and, in the event of an evacuation, they are your main point of assistance. Crowd management personnel located near the viewing platform will assist in moving everybody to a place of safety

Accessible customers not requiring access to Wheelchair/Ambulant Platform but require a PA/Companion ticket. Please see below:

  • Customers who require a PA/Companion to attend the event but don't need access to the Accessible Platform should purchase their own ticket and then request the PA/Companion ticket via the Accessible Facilities Form here. Please do not purchase the PA/Companion ticket.
  • A Summer Sessions accessible guide with event-specific information will be sent out (via email) prior to the event to all confirmed applicants including arrival info, access maps, distances, access facilities and more We recommend saving and printing a copy of the Access Guide for your own reference (once available). No hard copies will be available on-site.
  • Please note that our Access Facilities are not for customers with temporary impairments such as broken bones, healing wounds, or pregnancy, anyone concerned about their access, please use the website contact form to submit an enquiry accessDUN@SMMRsessions.com
  • This is an all-standing event with limited seating around the main arena and VIP. Chairs are not allowed into the festival.
  • First Aid & Welfare are available to all at Summer Sessions
  • ‘CAN’T WAIT’ cards, we ask our toilet attendants and stewards to look out for these cards for quick access to the toilets if you have one.

 

We operate 2 different types of wristbands on site for our Accessible Customers depending on your requirements.

 

Accessible Platform Wristband

Accessible platforms are controlled by a wristband system and managed by the Access Manager. To ensure they run smoothly, each location has its own team of stewards, security and customer access team. As platforms have a limited capacity these are strictly for access customers, plus one (1) companion.

BSL Interpreting Services

  • BSL Performance Interpreters are available on request in advance. Please send advance requests via the Accessible Facilities Form here.
  • At least 60-day notice is advised
  • Assistance Dogs
  • We welcome any assistance dogs, if you require dog spending area on site please email your request within a reasonable time frame via the Accessible Facilities Form here.

We strongly advise planning your journey before leaving for Summer Sessions. Specific travel information will be sent out via email to Accessible customers prior to the event in the Accessible Info Guide.

There will be a dedicated Accessible parking area located close to the Accessible Entrance. If you require use of this car park you will need to apply for Access Parking via the Access Requirements Form here

Please note:

  • Accessible Parking is limited
  • Blue Badge Holders must have their badge present on the day to show a Steward or register their Car Reg with us in advance
  • The Accessible parking area is free of charge
  • Parking in the accessible car park is limited, so friends and family arriving separately will not be able to use this car park
  • GROUND FACILITIES - The outdoor event arena floor is uneven and consists of a combination of gravel, grass and limited tarmac pathways and terra-plast trackway. Combined with poor weather conditions this could make some areas of the arena inaccessible. We ask customers to prepare for all weather ground conditions
  • THE ACCESSIBLE PLATFORM is seated only and uncovered. All platforms have ramp access, wheelchair accessible toilets and charging points.
  • UMBRELLA’s are prohibited at the event, so please dress appropriately for the Scottish weather. As platforms have a limited capacity these are strictly for access customers, plus one (1) companion.
  • FLICKER, LASER, STROBE and other lighting effects may be used during the performances. Anyone affected by these should bear this in mind.
  • NO SMOKING/ USE OF E-CIGARETTES is permitted on the accessible platform, this is to assist with the comfort and enjoyment of all
  • LARGE PRINT PROGRAMMES OR RUNNING TIMES - Available when requested in advance
  • MEDICATION - If you need to bring medication with you, we recommend bringing a copy of your doctor’s letter or prescription. Please keep medication in its original boxes. There will also be a fridge available if you require cold storage for your medication this must be requested in advance.
  • HIDDEN DISABILITIES - We understand that a hidden disability is not immediately apparent. If you would like support or advice inside Summer Sessions our Access Manager will be the main point of contact and is based at the Accessible Platform or please contact us in advance with your questions via the Accessible Facilities Form here.
